How to obtain an electronic ID
You can choose between five electronic ID alternatives when you want to log in to public services:
MinID is a publicly issued, personal electronic ID that provides access to public services at a medium-high level of security, level 3. MinID is issued by Norwegian Digitalisation Agency, and you can order PIN codes from the year you turn 13.

BankID is a personal, electronic ID that provides access to public services at the highest level of security, level 4. BankID is issued by your bank, and can be sent to people who are at least 13 years old, but the banks operate with their own age restrictions.

BankID on mobile is a personal, electronic ID that allows access to public services online at the highest security level, Level 4. BankID on mobile is issued by your bank.Remember, you must have regular BankID with codes from your bank before, and that you can only activate the BankID on mobile from the bank that gave you BankID.

Buypass is a personal, electronic ID that provides access to public services at the highest level of security, level 4. Buypass is issued by Buypass AS, and you can use Buypass ID on smartcard or Buypass ID in mobile. Anyone with a Buypass ID on smart card, can use Buypass ID in mobile. Commfides is a personal, electronic ID that provides access to public services at the highest level of security, level 4. Commfides is issued by Commfides Norge AS, supplied as an electronic ID on a secure USB stick. Commfides ID has no age limit, but requires legitimation and personal signature when issued.
