This course is made for those who wants to learn about the common contact register, and how you can update your contact details. If you have never used an electronic ID (eID) to log on to a public service online, you are not registered in the common contact register. «Manuscript»: The teacher should use this information to more clearly present the information in the slides. «Additional information for the teacher»: This is only background information for the teacher to have some more knowledge about the common contact register, or if the participants have questions. The common contact register is a register with the citizens digitale contact information, as mobile number and e-mail address. When you are logging in with eletronic ID to a public service for the first time, you can register your contact information. It is only central and local government who can use the common contact register. It is the Norwegian Digitalisation Agency which is responsible for the contact information in the common contact register. You must be a digital citizen to register contact information. You can opt out, letters containing important information will then only be sent to you in paper format. You can still log in and see information about yourself and get access to some digital services. If you have opt out of online communication, central and local government will still be able to send you service messages, information, etc.

When you are logging in with eletronic ID to a public service for the first time, you can register your contact information. It is only you who can register your contact information. The common contact register may contain your mobile number and e-mail address, information about which digital mailbox you have chosen, your choice of language and any preferences you have regarding electronic communication.

Central and local government wishes to contact you digitally. If you have changed your mobile number or e-mail address, you have log in to the common contact register to update your contact information. Central and local government will notify you at the e-mail address or mobile number when they have sent important letter to your digital mailbox. It is important that you register your own mobile number and e-mail address.

The advantage of a common contact register is that you as a citizen do not need to provide this information to all the different public agencies you are in contact with.You update your contact information yourself and only need to do this in one place. You can choose to register either your e-mail address or mobile number, or both. You must log in through ID-porten to change your contact information. For security reasons it is only you that can change your contact information. It is not possible to call ID-porten help desk and ask if they can change your contact information.

Select the electronic ID you have. You log in as usual and can change your mobile number or email address. For logins, see separate courses. If you use MinID and have a new mobile number, you must use the code from the PIN code letter when you are asked to enter the one-time code from the SMS. Click on: «Use code from the PIN code letter».

You have now logged in to your contact information. If your mobile number or e-mail address is incorrect, click the pencil icon and enter your correct mobile number and e-mail address.

If you help others with login, and have registered several people with YOUR mobile number or your e-mail address, YOU will be notified if any of the others change their contact information. Sentral and local government use the information in the common contact register to notify you. We recommed you to register your own contact information.
